Chapter 10 The Call

Tara didn’t play games with her enemies—she ended them. She is a woman of action, not theatrics. Love is a foreign concept to her, something fragile, something weak. Pain, however, is familiar—etched into her very bones. She understood it better than anyone. But did that mean she is incapable of feeling? Is she truly heartless, or is she something far more dangerous? A devil cloaked in an angel’s disguise? Or an Angel disguised as a Devil. Her thoughts were interrupted by the sharp buzz of her phone. She answered without hesitation, but the voice on the other end made her freeze mid-step.
