The guard led Ariella, Kael, and Selene to a dimly lit chamber beneath the palace. The air was thick with tension as the prisoner, a tall figure dressed in the signature dark robes of The Shade, sat bound to a chair in the center of the room. His face was hidden behind a mask, but his posture was rigid, defiant even in the face of capture. Ariella stepped forward, her eyes narrowed as she assessed the man before her.
