Chapter 5 The Rise of the Prodigal
Marcus dared not be careless when facing a Void Realm cultivator, who was three realms above him. He unleashed his full power.
Roar!
As he struck, a golden dragon's shadow manifested on his fist, surging toward Madison.
"Hmm?" Madison froze momentarily and raised his hand to block.
Crack!
However, the dragon's shadow struck his arm, instantly shattering it into several pieces.
"It's impossible!" Madison panicked and darted sideways through the air, narrowly evading the dragon's shadow.
"Heavenly Body Technique!" However, Marcus instantly teleported beneath Madison with a tap of his toes.
"How is this possible? When did he..." Madison's face twisted in shock. Marcus' speed was so fast that he couldn't follow it.
"Go die!" Marcus roared, launching a fist upward.
Boom!
The punch landed squarely on Madison, sending him flying into the sky. With a crash, he smashed through the roof of the Thorne Family's Estate hall.
"This..." Everyone present was stunned, staring through the broken roof at the sky above.
Boom!
After ten whole seconds, Madison's corpse fell from the sky, slamming heavily onto the ground. Half of his body was obliterated, his death gruesome beyond words.
The hall fell silent. No one could believe their eyes. That is a Void Realm cultivator with the power to dominate Borderwatch single-handedly. Yet, he is killed by Marcus with just two punches. Is this still their prodigal scion?
In truth, even Marcus was stunned. "I'm still just in the Body Refining Realm, yet I can effortlessly kill someone in the Void Realm? It seems the invincibility of the nine codices is no mere boast."
As Marcus pondered, his gaze shifted to Mandy. He walked slowly toward her.
Mandy stood there, dumbfounded. This scene exceeded her cognition. The man she had always looked down on as a useless scion of the Thorne Family was mighty.
Upon seeing Marcus approaching, Mandy trembled and forced an awkward smile, uglier than crying. "Husband, it was actually just a joke."
Everyone was speechless.
Marcus sneered at her and said coldly, "Shut your filthy mouth. Who the hell is your husband?"
Mandy's expression flickered, and she gritted her teeth. "Marcus, I warn you. Don't think you can harm me. I'm not only a true disciple of the Jade Swords Guild, but also the woman of the Crown Prince of God of War of Nightwind Kingdom Capital. No matter how strong you are now, to the God of War, you're nothing but a loser. If you dare touch me, I guarantee your Thorne Family will be utterly destroyed." Her voice rose to a hysterical pitch by the end.
Upon hearing this, the Thorne Family members were all turned pale.
"The God of War? How is this related to the God of War now?" one elder of the Thorne Family said, trembling.
"The God of War? Is he one of the top ten experts at Nightwind Kingdom Capital?" Frederick muttered grimly.
"Done talking?" Marcus asked Mandy.
She nodded hesitantly.
Bang!
Marcus kicked her squarely in the abdomen, shattering her elixir field.
Spurt!
Mandy vomited blood as all the spiritual energy in her body dissipated.
"You destroyed my elixir field?" she stammered.
Crack!
Marcus didn't reply. He stepped forward and stomped on her arm, breaking it.
"Ahhh!" Mandy screamed in agony.
Marcus was expressionless and raised his foot again, breaking her other arm and both legs.
"So ruthless!" The Thorne Family members were all shaken by his actions.
Marcus grabbed Mandy by the collar like a piece of trash.
"Worthless scum, I'll give you a chance. Bring whoever you want, whether it's the Jade Swords Guild or the God of War. For the next three months, let them come to me for revenge. After three months, I'll personally visit your Boly Family and wipe out your entire clan. Now get lost!" With that, he flung Mandy outside.
Outside the door, members of the Boly family quickly carried her away.
"Marcus, why did you let her go?" Frederick asked worriedly, watching Mandy leave.
In his view, Marcus was laying troubles for the future.
Marcus smiled faintly. "After today's events, even if I didn't let her go, those who need to know will know. If our enemies stay in behind, it'll only cause trouble. Letting her leave is a way to lure them out. This way, they'll gather, and I can deal with them all at once. Saves time and effort."
