Chapter 22 The Misfortune

"Madam Peterson, don't you find this absurd?" Dwayne barely acknowledged Michelle, his expression unreadable as he continued, "The Yorm Dragon Jade was a gift I personally gave to the Yorm Family. You all took it upon yourselves to claim the credit, and now, with things falling apart, you distort the truth to come after me?" Michelle reprimanded him sharply, "How dare you speak to elders like that! Do you have any respect? Everything Samuel did was for the family's honor—where is the fault in that? As for you, you've contributed nothing to this family and only weigh us down. I've even heard that, while I lay comatose, you intentionally interfered with the doctors' efforts to save me. Such appalling conduct would have warranted execution in ages past."
