In the vast fields between the rivers, only white water and rice stalks remained. Some of the rice stalks had just sprouted new buds, and from a distance they looked green, like a spring scene. On the sixth day of August, the vanguard infantry and cavalry of Wang Bin's troops had crossed the Luoqing River near Luorong County (northeast of Luorong Town, Luzhai County); on the morning of the seventh day, the vanguard army finally caught up with the main force of Wu Gao's army coming from the northwest at a place called Shazhai on the north bank of Liuhe (Shiliuhe River).
