Chapter 6 A True Master
Cameron squinted his eyes upon hearing this.
Ten thousand might not be a big deal for him, but for an ordinary person, it was a huge sum of money, likely more than a family's annual income!
The highest price quoted by the previous monks and priests he had sought was only fifteen thousand.
“Young man, are you sure you can handle this? If you can, money isn't an issue. But if you dare deceive me...”
He continued, “Let me tell you. Crushing someone like you would be as easy as squashing an ant for me.”
“Don't worry, I won't deceive you. And even if I did, there's nothing you could do about it,” Finneas replied, aware that Cameron was no ordinary person.
However, Cameron was insignificant to him.
“Heh heh... You've got guts!”
Cameron laughed.
It had been a long time since he met a young man who didn't fear him.
“In that case, let's go to the construction site,” Cameron said, heading toward a Hummer.
“No need to go to the site.”
Finneas shook his head, spending the last few coins he had on the paper, fountain pen, and ink he could find at the market.
He then casually wrote a few words on the paper before handing it to Cameron.
Cameron looked at the scribbles, puzzled, then his face darkened.
“Please don't tell me that this piece of paper can sort everything out?”
“Exactly! You guessed right. Hang this paper at the entrance of the site. Remember to protect it from rain and theft. Keep it intact for a while, and everything will be fine,” Finneas said calmly.
This wasn't just any ordinary piece of paper. The characters written with his spiritual energy would scare off the weasel spirit.
If it was foolish enough to enter the site, it would be seeking its own death.
Cameron looked at Finneas, then at the paper, his expression uncertain.
“Didn't you say this was complicated?”
This talisman with his scribble is worth ten thousand? Am I being scammed?
However, seeing Finneas' serious expression, he couldn't help but believe him a little.
“Okay, I'll trust you this once. But if you deceive me, I assure you your entire family will pay the price.”
Cameron's cold words lowered the temperature of the surroundings.
“Repeat what you just said.”
Finneas stared at Cameron expressionlessly.
Confronted with Finneas' penetrating gaze, Cameron felt a shiver run through his body, his skin prickling with goosebumps. He had an overwhelming sense that he could drop dead at any moment.
“Don't you understand me?”
Finneas looked up.
“Young man, calm down,” Cameron said nervously.
He didn't know why he was scared, but his instincts told him he had to back down, or the consequences would be severe.
This intuition had saved him countless times before!
“Some things should be said, and some shouldn't. Got it?” Finneas said coldly. “Now pay up, one hundred thousand. Full payment, no debts allowed.”
Cameron exhaled, signaling to his men by the Hummer, who brought over a case.
Opening it revealed bundles of cash, totaling around five to six hundred thousand.
Cameron took out a hundred thousand from it and handed it over to Finneas.
Finneas didn't expect Cameron to carry so much cash.
Taking the money, Finneas offered, “Actually, one talisman might not be enough. How about I draw you two more?”
“No need!”
Cameron's lips twitched.
Am I a fool? I feel foolish spending a hundred grand on a talisman. Why would I buy a few more?
“If you want to buy it in the future, the price won't be the same.”
Finneas glanced at Cameron, grabbed the money, and immediately turned to leave.
He was quite satisfied with this transaction. With the one hundred grand, he could solve the urgent matter at hand.
As Cameron watched Finneas walk away, his gaze flickered incessantly.
This young man felt dangerous.
Just one sentence made him fear for his life!
Given his status, few in Jacaster dared to cross him.
Thinking about this, Cameron instructed his subordinate, “Draco, follow him, find out where he lives, and who his family is. I want to know more about this person.”
“Yes, Boss!”
Draco nodded and went after Finneas cautiously.
After leaving Jaskait Market, Finneas headed to a nearby commercial street.
He had promised to buy new underwear for Alyssa that morning.
At the same time, he also had to purchase two phones.
In today's world, a phone was essential for staying in touch.
He wanted to teach Alyssa the art of cultivation, but the Nine Heavens Immortal Art could only be practiced by those with a natural spiritual constitution. As he didn't know any other breathing techniques at the moment, he had no choice but to put this matter on hold for a while.
Noting Draco tailing him, Finneas didn't care.
“Welcome to Victoria's Secret!”
A pretty saleswoman greeted Finneas as he entered the lingerie store.
“Get me one of each of the latest styles in your store in size 32C,” Finneas told her.
With his keen observation, he could easily tell that Alyssa's bra size was now a 32C.
As for the style of the lingerie, he didn't really understand, so he simply asked the salesperson to bring one of each.
“Sir, your wife is so lucky!”
The saleswoman smiled brightly at the big sale.
Finneas knew he had been misunderstood, but he chose not to clarify.
After spending over twenty thousand on dozens of pieces of lingerie, he bought two iPhones and a heap of snacks, meat, eggs, and vegetables from the supermarket.
In total, he spent over forty thousand.
“Prices have soared in ten years. It's tough for ordinary people,” Finneas sighed.
Despite his current power, he remembered his humble beginnings.
Noticing Draco still tailing him, Finneas smirked.
He walked to a secluded spot and shot into the sky, disappearing instantly.
“What...”
Draco rubbed his eyes, thinking he imagined it.
When Draco realized Finneas had disappeared for real, his legs gave way. He called Cameron in a panic.
“What happened?”
“Boss, I-I lost him!”
“Lost him? Are you useless?”
“It's true. I followed him. He bought a ton of lingerie, then two iPhones, snacks, and groceries... Then...”
“Then what?”
“He flew away!”
“Flew away? Was he picked up by a helicopter?”
“No, he flew away on his own!”
At a large construction site, Cameron hung up, his face uncertain.
He flew away? How is that possible? There's no one in the world who can fly! That's absurd!
At that moment, a construction site supervisor wearing a red hat approached, eyeing the paper skeptically. “Boss, can this really ward off evil? My first-grade son could draw better.”
“It has to work! What else can we do?” Cameron snapped, suppressing his anger.
He decided to rush back and seek out a few minor celebrities to vent his frustration. Otherwise, he feared he might just suffocate from the pent-up emotions!
However, the moment he turned around, a dull sound echoed from behind, much like the crack of a thunderbolt striking down.
Cameron turned around in alarm.
Surprisingly, the unremarkable white paper hanging on the large mountain was now emitting a purple glow.
Beneath that sheet of white paper, there lay a small, charred animal corpse.
It was a weasel!
“This...”
The construction site manager was dumbfounded, his mouth agape. He was unable to utter a single word.
He had never witnessed such a bizarre scene before.
A lightning bolt from the paper had struck down an old weasel!
“Amazing! Incredible!” Cameron exclaimed, realizing he had indeed encountered a true expert.
Meanwhile, about eight or nine kilometers away in a cave, an elderly man with graying hair spat blood.
Within a cave, roughly eight or nine kilometers away from the construction site, an elderly man with snowy white hair suddenly spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.
“Whiskers is in trouble! Who dares harm my Whiskers?” he snarled, wiping the blood from his mouth and racing toward the construction site.
