Chapter 2 Daddy, I'm Your Son
The atmosphere at the scene suddenly froze as everyone's gaze converged on Hesperus.
To them, this handsome and adorable little boy did bear a resemblance to the Ryker family members.
He might really be the child of one of the sons of the Ryker family.
Oscar had three grandsons. They wondered who this child could be.
It certainly couldn't be Abel's, as he had been abroad for years.
It was probably the second son, Adrien Ryker. The entire Struyria knew about his romantic escapades.
"Emmeline, get out of here!" Alana's face turned dark. "Don't bring some random b*stard here and dream of climbing the social ladder. Do you think the Ryker family doesn't know what kind of person you are? Do you think Mr. Abel would let a woman like you bear his child?"
Despite her harsh words, Alana was panicking inside.
She knew very well what happened five years ago.
She had drugged Abel during one of his brief returns to the country, fully prepared to spend the night with him and thus enter the Ryker family legitimately.
She never predicted that Abel would go to the wrong room and end up in Emmeline's room, benefitting her.
If not for stealing Emmeline's son through Alondra, she wouldn't be posing as Abel's fiancee now.
She could not allow anyone from the Ryker family, especially Abel, to see Emmeline and her child.
"This is what Abel gave me." Emmeline took out a bank card. "The cardholder is Abel. It can't be wrong, right?"
"Where did you pick this up from? Do you believe in a discarded card?" Alana snatched the card and snapped it in half, throwing it into the trash.
Emmeline was momentarily stunned. It was the only thing that man left behind.
Without thinking, she slapped Alana.
"How dare you hit me? Someone, throw this mad woman and this b*stard child out!" Alana screamed while clutching her face.
The bodyguards rushed forward. Emmeline responded with a flurry of punches and kicks.
Alana and the ladies were dumbfounded.
The bodyguards lay on the ground, groaning.
Alana stared at Emmeline. Since when did she fight so well?
As Emmeline was considering whether to continue fighting, the door to the ward opened. A dignified, clear voice came through, "Who is making such a racket outside?"
The air froze. Alana shut her mouth while the bodyguards scrambled to their feet.
It was Rosaline, Lewis Ryker's wife and Abel's mother.
Oscar had two sons and three grandsons.
Abel was the son of Lewis, Oscar's second son.
Alana pointed at Emmeline. "Madame Ryker, this woman was causing trouble. I was just trying to calm her down."
"That's not true." Hesperus looked up at Rosaline. He politely yet assertively said, "Young lady, I'm here to find my daddy, not to make trouble."
Rosaline's eyes lit up as she looked down at the little boy.
This little one did resemble her eldest grandson somewhat.
"Who are you talking to?" she asked kindly.
"You, of course." Hesperus glanced at Alana, then told Rosaline, "Don't believe this woman. My mommy is not a shrew; she is."
Alana couldn't take it. "You brat, who are you referring to?"
"Young lady, did you see that?" Hesperus pointed at Alana. "Isn't she a shrew?"
Alana hastily covered her mouth, uneasy about her loss of composure.
"You should call me Granny." Rosaline patted Hesperus' head. "My grandson is about your age."
"Then I'll call you Granny. You look so kind. Maybe you are my real granny?"
Hesperus' acting skills soared, melting Rosaline's heart.
"Guards, throw these two out!" Alana panicked. "This brat is disturbing Madame Ryker."
"Don't bully people." Rosaline frowned. "Just have security escort them down."
"No need for security." Emmeline held her son's hand.
Since Abel wasn't back yet, there was no reason to stay.
"We can leave ourselves."
"Mommy!" Hesperus tugged on Rosaline's clothes and waved to Emmeline. "I want to play with Granny a bit more. I'll come back by myself later."
Emmeline was about to refuse when she saw Hesperus' big eyes blinking continuously.
Does this kid want to be undercover? He really has skills.
Nevertheless, she had confidence in her three sons as they were geniuses. No one could bully them.
Hence, she left, granting Hesperus' wish.
As she left the hospital, she received a call from her assistant. "Madam, Abel himself has contacted us. He hopes Wonder Doctor will treat Old Mr. Ryker. Will you take the job?"
"Yes. Tell him I'll go tomorrow."
One of Emmeline's hidden identities was the miracle Wonder Doctor. The Ryker family had sought her out many times, but she had not responded.
Now that Abel had personally reached out, she had to show respect to him, her children's father.
After hanging up, Emmeline got into her car to head home to her eldest son, Helios.
However, Helios was already at the airport, waiting at the exit for the man in the photo, whom he heard was his father.
Wearing sunglasses, Abel walked by with confidence. There were four bodyguards in front and behind.
His powerful aura chilled the temperature of the terminal to freezing.
"Has Wonder Doctor replied?" Abel asked coldly.
His subordinate's respectful tone carried a hint of relief as he said, "Mr. Abel, Wonder Doctor said she will come tomorrow to treat Old Mr. Ryker."
Upon hearing this, Abel's tense expression softened slightly.
Oscar's illness had stumped numerous famous doctors, and Wonder Doctor was their last hope.
Having performed countless miracles, Wonder Doctor should be able to save Oscar.
"Daddy!"
A crisp sound snapped Abel back to reality.
Looking down, he saw a miniature version of himself blocking his path.
Timothy? No, this little guy is chubbier than Timothy…
"Kid, you are…"
"Daddy, I'm your son." Helios' voice was clear.
