Alessandra made her way to Dominic's office with the documents as calmly as she could, despite feeling much more anxious than usual. She tried to behave as professionally and calmly as possible, reminding herself that she was at work and needed to separate personal matters from professional ones. She knocked on the door directly since Clara was not at her desk, and heard that deep voice authorizing her entry. With all the courage she could muster, she walked in, praying for God to calm her anxiety. She had a lot on her mind that morning, and what she had read in the newspaper a few minutes ago only added to her worries. At first, she looked at the slender figure and long straight black hair of her coworker, Clara, who was in front of the imposing desk of the respected magnate receiving instructions. Their eyes met briefly, and her pulse raced with that small visual contact. She waited in her place while they finished their conversation, trying to control her emotions.
