Chapter 33

Dominic's lunch with his partners was torture. He couldn't enjoy the significant business deal he had just closed because he couldn't get Alessandra out of his head. He also couldn't forget the ungentlemanly way he had treated her. How could he apologize? How could he make amends for his mistake? But most intriguing of all, why was he so concerned about that woman? Why did he feel like his life was not the same? Damn, what the hell was happening with his life? He needed to figure it out and regain control of everything as before, because if not, sooner or later he would end up in a madhouse. The seconds felt long, the minutes endless, and the hours eternal. All he needed was to finally get to the hotel and rest. He had worked too hard in the past few days, he wanted to lose himself in a world where he didn't think about her, he had to let go of that once and for all, it was too much. Although, if he thought about it, it was probably best not to apologize. He was not a romantic man, much less one who placed too much importance on a woman, and yet, that's what he was doing. Yes, he wasn't wrong, he was showing too much interest, even more than necessary. He should leave things as they were, treat her like any other employee, and forget once and for all his attraction to her.
