Chapter 14 Accident!

Aurora's POV "Aurora!" I groaned in sleep as my body hurt with movements. I took seconds before I understood that someone called me in a whisper. Adrenaline rushed inside me and my eyes snapped open, body jolted up as I sat and cowered back with the gasp. "Hey, it's okay... It's just me.." Catherine frowned at me while raising her hands in defence. I sighed in relief and ran my hand through my hair. I thought it was Rafael. My throat was dry, I grabbed the bottle from the table and gulped the water down. My heart went to its normal beating as I looked around and realised that I am still in the library. Catherine made me sleep here after breakfast and I had a good sleep that feels like I have slept for days. Maybe I was really tired. "You look like you have been sleeping for decades." She chuckled, my eyes must be swollen because I can feel it. I don't mind because I am feeling fresh and relaxed after a nap. "Shift is over... And we still have half day left... It's such a rare thing, seriously!..." I looked at the clock. I slept for half of the day. Poor Catherina had to work for me too. "Thank you and Sorry... You had to do everything alone" Catherine smiled. "Oh, come on! We are friends... And I am not doing this for free, you are giving me treats, remember?" She is an excited soul. I was like her too but she is an upgraded version. "Yes! I remember" I nodded. She really deserves a treat to take care of me. "Let's go shopping and have a nice lunch..." She suggested and I looked at her with a blank face. Thinking of whether I should go or not. It sounded like a good idea, I don't want to go home and sit there depressed, I won't sleep either after the nap and Rafael won't be home before night so I have a good time for myself. It will be refreshing to go out and spend some time with Catherine. "Okay!" I nodded without a smile. "You said yes?" Her eyes widened. "I should give you naps regularly, it works!" She teased and grabbed our purses. "Let's go before you change your mind." She grabbed my arm making me stand. I stopped her. "Let me wash my face... You take out the car, I'll join you" She nodded and walked out. I washed my face and checked my phone and remembered his message. I don't know what he is going to do to me tonight. I shook my thoughts and decided to focus on the present because time with Rafael is always filled with terrors. I freshened up and went out, Catherine was waiting in the car for me. I opened the door and sat inside. "Lunch first or shopping?" I am not hungry but she must be, because she has been working since morning. "Lunch!" She smiled and started the car. I wish I could smile freely like her. But sometimes I feel it's good, I don't have to fake a smile to people I don't like. We stopped by the restaurant and went inside. The waiter greeted us as we took seats. Catherine ordered for both of us while I was staring blankly out of the window. The streets were busy even in the afternoon, maybe because of the public event in the town. "I am damn hungry" She sipped her juice. "So Aurora__ okay, never mind!" I looked at her blankly as she stopped and cleared her throat awkwardly. Maybe she wanted to ask something but felt awkward to ask it. I doubted that it was about the morning or my nature but I am glad that she didn't proceed further because I can't answer any of her questions and risk her life. Catherine has a good and happening life and I don't want to jinx it with the mention of Rafael. "Hello, ladies!" We both looked at the source of the voice. It was a young man in a leather jacket, blonde and tall with a lean body. "Would you mind me joining you." His eyes were on me. "Yes, we mind!" I replied with a straight face. There is no fucking way that I am getting screwed tonight because of this overconfident man. If Rafael finds out that I was sitting with the man on the table then first he will skin him alive and then me. "Please leave!" Catherine bit her lips in surprise at my rude reply. I hardly talk rudely. "Come on, I am just trying to get to know you..." He smiled charmingly. "By the way, a beautiful girl like you has all the rights to be rude and spicy like..." I hate when men act like this after hearing no and this man is looking overconfident dumb. At least Rafael looks dangerous when he acts like this, this man is clearly looking dumb and an idiot. I don't know why I felt so irritated, maybe because of the daily traumas I am getting. "And dumb shit like you don't deserve to sit with us..." I gritted. I know I am rude but it will save our lives. He frowned at my words. "Excuse me!" He scoffed. "I was just being kind to you... You are not that beautiful anyway..." It's obvious that I hurt his ego. Men! Can't take little harsh words. He looked annoyed. "Ditched a bullet! You anyway look like a girl who whore around rich men and prefers fat and old sugar daddies." Catherine slammed her hands angrily on the table and was about to get up but I grabbed her hand and stopped her. "Let him talk, poor boy got his fragile ego hurt..." "Gentleman, I suggest you stop bothering these ladies and take your seat." The manager meddled. "Bro, let it go man... Forget it!" The man who looked like his friend came and tried to take him away. "Yeah, whatever!" He scoffed and turned around. There was a print of eagle on the back of his jacket. It looked expensive and had real leather. My anger rose, I don't want to think which animal they have killed to make that unnecessary expensive thing. "Whores nowadays have so much attitude, dude" He said while walking away. I closed my eyes in anger and Catherine glared at him. "I am going to kill this motherfucker!" She grabbed the fork angrily. "I am extremely sorry for whatever happened, ma'am..." The manager pleaded. "Those are rich spoilt groups of boys from known families... Please don't mind, I'll make sure your further experience here is good..." I nodded at him. "It's okay." It's not his fault anyway. "Catherine, let's just enjoy our lunch... It's not worth it to ruin our mood on such people." "Yeah, you are right" She rolled her eyes. They served our food and Catherine started sharing her life with me. She lives with her two roommates and loves to travel around the world. She sometimes shows me her pictures. We finished our lunch with her talks and the restaurant didn't charge us for the food. They gave us free service due to whatever happened. Catherine really liked their service and thanked them. "Wow! At least something good happened" She chuckled. "I love free food" She took me to a nearby shopping mall after lunch and was too excited to go shopping. I saw a book shop and got a few books for myself. Catherine also got some for herself. We got many things, I saw some cute home decor and got it. If not life then at least the house should look beautiful and happening. We were roaming around when I saw a store of handbags. There was a purse on display. It was beige and looked classy. It captured my heart the moment I laid my eyes on it. "You liked that one?" Catherine asked. "Let's go inside and get it" She dragged me inside the store. I looked around and there were many beautiful bags but the store looked expensive and I didn't miss that it was one of the famous brands. Catherine shouldn't have dragged us here. "Hello, ma'am! How may I help you?" The sales girl greeted us. "That bag!" Catherine pointed. The girl went to grab the bag and I looked at Catherine. "I was just looking at it... This store looks out of budget, let's go" I grabbed her hand. She stopped me. "Babe, you clearly loved that bag... And if you are short on money now then I'll pay. It doesn't matter..." "It's not like I can't pay but I know this brand is expensive and I don't feel it's logical to spend so much money on unnecessary things." I replied. "It's just a bag." "Here, Ma'am" The girl handed us the bag. "It's $1999 only!" She smiled. "Only?" I looked at her and she understood my reaction. "Aurora, but you loved it!" Catherine huffed. "Ohh, Wow! I loved this one" The lady who was a customer literally snatched from my hand. "How much? I am taking this one" "But Ma'am they are looking at that product..." The girl told her. The woman looked at us with bored expressions. "Doesn't seem to be buying it." She rolled her eyes. "Pack this one!" "But Ma'am! My customer was checking that out." Catherine and I looked at the girl when she went to the manager. "Sir, Rina's customer is harassing my customers again and she has no courtesy to stop them... that is so unprofessional..." She complained. The manager looked at us and then towards another lady. "She is our regular customer, Julie... Show something else to your customer. I don't think they are really going to buy, they look like window shoppers anyway... Don't waste your time on walk-ins and focus on real customers if you want to add into your incentives..." The man with a big belly and grey hair scolded the poor girl. Julie came to us with an apologetic look. "Ma'am, I'll show you the best purse... The one you liked got sold... I am so sorry" "It's okay, Julie... We heard that..." Catherine replied. "Thanks for your service... But we don't want any purses now" I followed Catherine out of the store. "You are right, it was overpriced anyway... I shouldn't have dragged you in the store... Sorry!" She looked at me. "Don't be!" I replied. She was just thinking about me. We decided to go home and go to the car. "Can you drive today, my hands are hurting after holding shopping bags" She pouted like a child. "Okay" I placed bags in the back seat and took keys from her. She hopped into the passenger seat happily. I do drive when she is tired, it's not a new thing. I twisted the key and started the car. The streets were a little busy. "It was a shitty day... First that restaurant thing and now that bag thing..." She huffed. "It's okay..." It's just the beginning. I don't know what's going to happen to me when I go home. That's going to be worse than whatever happened today. I was calmly driving the car when suddenly two bikes came parallel to us. Horning unnecessarily and driving in a zigzag pattern. "What the fuck are these fuckers doing?" Catherine scowled. I was trying to maintain the distance but suddenly they horned loudly and I flinched which made me lose the control of the car and directly collided with one of the bikes. We both screamed when we felt the hit and the bike flew out of the road and crashed on the footpath. I quickly hit the breaks. "Fuck! Aurora?" Catherine looked at me shocked. "Are you okay?" I quickly inspected my body with fear and tears in my eyes. I can't even get a scratch because Rafael won't take it easy. He will make me pay for it. Thankfully, I didn't get any scratches or wounds because of the airbag and seatbelt. "That man!" Catherine gasped and my eyes widened. We both sprinted out of the car and ran towards the man. People had already g athered around him and our car. The man who was with him was sitting beside him. We stopped and looked at him shocked when his friend removed his helmet. "Aurora, he is the same man from the restaurant!" Catherine gasped. "And he is dead!"
