Chapter 2 He Is On The News!

Chloe returned back with a tray of food for little Ray, she placed it on the table and drew out a seat for herself.. Arya pulled the tray gently to herself, she took the spoon and slowly fed Ray.. "Why are you so nice to me?" Ray's question caught her off guard, she chuckled while wiping the smudge off the corner of his small mouth.. "Because you're a cute little angel, and hey! don't you know table manners?" Arya whispered to him which made Chloe roll her eyes, she knew she had seen this boy somewhere but where exactly? he looked really familiar.. Her gaze trailed off from the scene before her, her jaw suddenly dropped when the TV show was interrupted with a breaking news.. "Raymond Anderson a five year old kid and our country's own Anderson's heir said to have run off from school grounds has been declared missing..Mr Anderson has promised the sum of ten million dollars to anyone who is able to find him" The reporter on the news said with a broad smile.. Chloe fell into a daze, the large sum of money kept on playing in her head, ten million dollars? for this little boy? She tugged at Arya's hair.. "Ar.. Arya.." "Spill it out.. I think Ray needs more.. get him another plate" Chloe spranged up to her feet pointing at the TV at the far corner of the room, her lips quivered in astonishment. "He is on the news!" Ray's once smiling face dropped, how could he have forgotten this trick? whenever he goes missing his dad promises a huge amount of money to anyone who finds him.. Arya's lips parted in shock, Ray was the Anderson's heir? the spoon on her hands fell on the table.. She stood up and moved back, if Mr Anderson finds out that his son was at her small restaurant, he might accuse her of kidnapping his son and shut it down. Ray noticed the change in the atmosphere, not only Arya, but the other people in the restaurant were looking at him greedily.. His eyes teared up as he returned his gaze back to Arya "You are not going to take me back right?" Arya was touched, she has always had a soft spot for kids, but today she had to choose between this kid she just met and her restaurant which she worked so hard to achieve.. Chloe was the first to grab him "Arya what are you still thinking about? Dial he number on the screen we will be rich as soon as we hand him over to his father" A tear drop slid down his eyes as he stared at Arya hoping for her to change her mind or something, seeing her expressionless face made him realize that there was no hope.. "You are not nice! you are just like everyone else!" Arya was taken aback by his harsh words and in the next minute, he sprinted out of Chloe's hold, others who tried to catch him ended up tumbling over tables and chairs as he dodged them.. "My money bag!" Chloe cried out Arya pulled off her apron and threw it at Chloe "quit whining..I'll be back" Arya stopped for a while panting slightlyy after running for quite a distance who knew that a five year old could run this fast??.. "Come on little Ray.. I promise I won't take you to your daddy please come out.. we made a pinky promise didn't we?" Passersby stared at her weirdly, but she didn't care about that..she would get into a huge mess if Ray wasn't found, after all he was last spotted at her small restaurant.. She sighed and sat down on a pavement along the street.. A fleet of cars sped past her closely accompanied by blaring sirens from the cops vehicle.. she didn't need a genie to tell her who that was. Arya's eyes trailed the car till it vanished, However she noticed a slight movement not far from her and that was when she spotted someone.. Her lips drew a small smile as she hurried to the car across the street.. She went on her fours, and crawled under the car, "You sure love hiding a lot don't you?" Ray raised his head to look at her, Arya gasped when she saw his teary eyes.. "Little Ray are you alright?" She brought her hand to his head caressing his hair softly.. "I don't want to go to him, he doesn't want to tell me anything about my mummy" Arya sighed, she was already getting uncomfortable under the car, she slowly wriggled herself out.. She rised to her feet, stretching and massaging her waist when she spotted a few people staring at her.. Arya released a weird laughter, now people thought she was mentally unstable because of a little boy.. She sighed in relief when they were finally gone "you can come out now Ray" Ray slowly crawled out and smiled but his smile died down the instance he saw the men behind Arya. Arya noticed the change in his expression, she followed his line of sight and was shocked to see five husky huge men.. "You found him..thank you miss and here is the promised reward" One of the men said stretching a cheque to her.. Two other men suddenly grabbed Ray who was trying to run away.. Arya was left speechless as she stared back and forth between the cheque and the man in front of her... her gaze rested on Ray for a brief second.. She could see disbelief and shock written in his adorable face, even she could not understand what was going on.. "Take him to the car!" Arya raised her hand to block them from moving.. "He doesn't want to go.." One of the men held Arya back as they led Ray away.. "You have no right to interfere miss! take your generous reward and leave!" He barked loudly and pushed her before returning to the car.. Arya fell on the rough ground and was just in time supported by Chloe.. They both watched the car speed off leaving behind a cloud of dust.. "Are you alright Arya? come on get up" Chloe worriedly asked helping her friend up from the dirty ground.. Arya pulled Chloe's hand away from hers "You called them didn't you?" Chloe's lips parted to speak only to be cut shut by Arya.. "Don't say anything! it's the money you want right?!" She picked the crumpled cheque from the ground and placed it on Chloe's palm.. "There! enjoy it! did you for once care about what type of torture they must be putting him through? he's just a little kid and he ran away just to be away from his father" Chloe touched Arya's shoulder "Yes! it's my fault Arya, blame me! I'm so stupid and greedy, when I heard the large sum of money I couldn't think straight anymore" Arya sighed in defeat, she couldn't put her years long friendship with Chloe on stake because of a little kid she knew barely a few minutes ago.. "Don't worry I won't spend out of this money, we will use it to replace all the damage he caused at the restaurant and the rest we will give it an orphanage" Arya chuckled at Chloe's fast paced explanations, but a part in her heart still felt bad for little Ray.. how bad can his father be? In a large and spacious living room with high ceilings and a large window, which gave a beautiful view.. The furnitures were made of the finest wooden and leather material, the flooring was also marbled. The décor was elegant and sophisticated, with art on the walls and beautiful plants in the corners giving it a warm look. There was a fireplace and a large flat-screen TV, as well as a bar and a wine cellar. The overall atmosphere was of opulence and sophisticated.. everywhere seemed Peaceful until..... "Hey let me go!" Ray yelled at the guards holding him.. The men obliged and released their grip on him, Ray huffed loudly straightening his school uniform which was already rumpled.. "Young master please wait patiently for your dad to return, he is almost here"
