Chapter 6

Afterward, I lay, utterly spent, feeling as though a thunderbolt had hit me. The quick coupling with the boy in the back of the truck had left me feeling like a disgusted, painful mess. But this...this was like a violent yet immensely pleasurable experience. I lay, exhausted, still gasping softly. THIS was what could happen between a man and a woman. Dear God! My eyes flickered open and I found myself staring straight into a pair of highly amused eyes the color of the blue seas. "Never been there, before, eh?" he drawled, not unkindly, a hand moving to stroke my taut nipple and I stiffened. I shuddered and shook my head, mutely. I wasn't sure that I would be able to speak. My body felt heavy and languorous. All I could manage was to close my eyes and slip back into a world where I felt as though I was floating. Every part of my body felt alive, there were muscles that felt sore and tender but the pleasure I had just experienced! I gasped softly at the wonderment of it and my eyelids fluttered open to stare once again at the man who had made it happen. His gaze was intent on me, his big body trapping me. A heavy leg lay across my thighs, restraining me. Along with it came a horrid thought; would he think I was the kind of girl who made a habit of tumbling onto the carpet and making love with every man I met? But even as I parted my lips to explain, he silenced me. With a practiced finger, he slowly trailed a path from my forehead to my mouth, lingering on my lips. I opened my mouth wordlessly and with a snarl, he lowered his head, kissing me roughly, dominating me, and thrusting his tongue into my mouth. Without hesitation, my hands sank into his muscled upper arms, digging my nails into his strong back. My body had felt sore just a while before but now, once again, every fiber of mine was alive and longing to be claimed by this stranger. That was the magical power he had over me. My hands slid into his thick hair, pulling him closer. He suddenly broke the kiss, drawing his head back, his eyes raking my face breathing hard, studying me intently, almost angrily. "Tease!" he growled, "Little tease!" And then laughing softly, he ran his finger from my mouth down my body, skittering over my breasts, my stomach, till he reached the mound between my legs. I whimpered, my body on fire for him, mutely begging him to enter me: he laughed, lowering his head to my neck, biting me gently at first and then with urgency, his mouth moving down, nipping me, arousing me. I writhed on the carpet as the feeling increased. Again, just as suddenly, with a shocking abruptness, he stopped and rolled away. His back was to me as he spoke. The question he asked took me in shock. 'How many men have you slept with, little girl? ' The sneering tones made me want to sink into the earth and disappear. When he turned to me, his derisive expression made me want to cover myself in shame. Instead, I pulled on the crumpled and torn dress that lay on the floor nearby and covered myself willy-nilly with it, I sat up, hugging my knees to my chest defensively. Rearing my head proudly I met his flinty gaze bravely. Aware that my long hair was hanging in a tangled mess on my back and that I probably looked like a woman of the night as my uncle would have said, I answered, lifting my chin haughtily, 'One… boy.' His eyes glittered and it seemed to me that for a minute, I saw a flash of curiosity on his mask-like countenance which was gone so quickly, I thought I must have imagined it. Then he nodded curtly as though he was winding up a business deal and to my horror, he said tersely, ' I'll get my men to drop you at your home.' His words left me stunned. I gaped at him in astonishment. Was that it? We had just made the most breathtaking love, indulged in the most stupendous experience I had ever had...and he was coolly asking me to leave? My shock and my pain must have been evident on my face as I gazed at him. With an exasperated shrug, he rose to his feet in a fluid movement and my eyes unwillingly trailed over his strong body, the body that had just dominated me with such force. This can't be happening, screamed a voice inside me. With his back turned to me, he began to move away and spoke in a harsh voice over his shoulder, "Go home, little girl. You're out of your league here." For a few moments, I couldn't believe what I had heard. But the finality in his demeanor propelled me into action. Confused and humiliated, I tried to cover myself and realized that my dress was irreparably damaged. Torn brutally, in other words. He turned as I stood up, swaying, my legs unsteady from the fierceness of the lovemaking. Putting my hand out, I grabbed the back of a chair to avoid collapsing on the floor. He made no attempt to help me. The damaged outfit fell in a heap onto the floor and I felt his hot eyes ravishing me hungrily but when he spoke, his voice was cool and detached, "Stay here, girl. I'll get you some clothes." I stumbled, and stood up silently, clutching the destroyed dress to my body, wave upon wave of shame coursing through me. What had I done to myself and my self-respect? He strode away and returned after a while. Fully clothed and looking as distinguished as ever, the man appeared from an antechamber that I hadn't noticed before since it had been cleverly disguised as part of the wall. He had showered, his hair was damp and suddenly, I felt unbearably dirty, unwashed, and unclean. Moving away, I caught a glimpse of myself in one of the mirrors in the room; it showed a woman with a swollen mouth, mussed up hair, her eyes glazed with desire; looking thoroughly laid, as Marianne would have sneered, I thought bitterly, hating myself for my weakness. The man strode up to me holding a long coat that was heavy and richly textured carelessly. It was creamy white and definitely designed and marketed by some exclusive brand that I could not even afford to dream of. A delicate, womanly fragrance clung to it. I began to refuse, shaking my head but with a look of impatience, he flung it at me. The gesture seemed to signify how intent he was to see the last of me and my eyes welled up. "Just wear the coat, forget the clothes." He ordered brusquely and I obeyed, keeping my head bowed. There was no way I would weep before this hateful man who only saw me as a body to be used to satisfy his pleasures. Turning my back to him, I tugged it on, realizing how stupid I would look if I insisted on leaving this exclusive club, wearing a torn party dress that now appeared to be soiled. Desperately wanting not to remain naked before his eyes that I could feel boring into my back, I pulled the garment closely around my tender, aching body. Inwardly, I was seething with hurt and humiliation. "The car will drop you, wherever you live." He went on, sounding bored, almost indifferent and I glanced up furtively to see that he was studying his phone, appearing to be a world away from me already. As though the intense passion we had shared was all a dream that I had conjured up. Except that the tenderness of my bruised body spoke otherwise. A feeling of anguish threatened to engulf me but I determined not to let him see my pain. I was just a simple, gullible girl, barely out of high school- he was a wealthy, older man who was probably used to treating women like toys. Huddling in the coat, raising my chin, I wrapped the expensive garment around me protectively. Squaring my shoulders, I bravely looked up to meet his eyes, surprising a tenderness that disappeared as I stared at him. Go out with guns blazing, girl! said a little voice inside me. I'll show him, I thought, and remembering how the woman had addressed him, I stretched out my hand and said as coolly as I could, " Nice meeting you too, Mr. Lucas." For a minute he stared at me, the pale eyes dazzling with surprise. Then he threw back his head and roared with laughter; for the first time, I realized that he was good-looking in a harsh way, despite the ugly scar and a nose that had been broken at some time in his life. The raw power he exuded was what made him sexy and dangerous. I felt the now familiar growing heat between my thighs where he had invaded me; where he had marked me as his. Now, coming closer, a reluctant smile tugging at the corner of his mouth he remarked in a conversational manner, "What's your name then, eh girl? I've f*cked you thoroughly but I don't know your name?" I gave him my glassiest look and replied, "I'd rather not tell you." Only to realize how childish it sounded. He came closer, eyes glinting purposefully challenged by my rude reply, making me step back in nervousness but I came up against the wall. He pressed me in, his hard chest flattening my body. "You're hurting me!" I protested bravely, glaring up at him, putting my small hands to push him away, ineffectively. But my voice was a whisper. "I'll damn well do what I want!" he growled, lowering his head. I tried to turn away to avoid his seeking mouth but he grabbed a handful of my hair, twisting the long strands round and round his wrist, making me cry out. Taking advantage of my weakness, his mouth swooped down on mine, his tongue invading me. I struggled, torn between wanting to fight him and fighting against my longing to succumb to the invasion. He raised his head, breathing like a long-distance runner, and studied my face. "That mouth," he uttered and lowered his head once again to devour me. I raised my hands, wanting to push him away with my fists, ineffectually. I ended up caressing his broad back frantically. Once again, he was the one who stopped. I could feel the hardness of his thick manhood, pushing against me urgently. But with an almost superhuman effort, he raised his flushed face and looked into my eyes as he growled gruffly, "Get the f*ck out now or ..." His eyes dropped lower to the coat that had come open, revealing my naked breasts, heavy with desire, nipples standing to attention for I was naked beneath the heavy coat. Turning, I looked at him, not trying to hide the hurt on my face. "I'm not in your league, Sir. I'm the little girl who has to go home", I whispered brokenly before closing the door softly behind me as I stumbled out and fled into the outside world, dashing down the stairs and running into a passage and hurtling into an enormous kitchen and out a back door, leaping into a cab that was just leaving, before anyone could stop me.
