~ Zoie’s POV ~ Zoie sat on Damon's office chair with her arms crossed and her feet up on the desk. She kept glancing at the clock, wondering why time was passing by so slowly. It was 12.30 at night and the entire house was quiet. Damon and Violet were asleep in their bed, and so were Zoie’s older brothers. Letting out a sigh, she checked her phone for the millionth time that night. There were no new notifications. And suddenly, just when she was about to make a phone call, she heard the door creaking open.
