Chapter 5 An Encounter at the Front Door

The person speaking to Sebastian was a young man with a dashing appearance and a scar on his face; he was tall and strong, dressed in a military uniform, which had a major general epaulet. "Okay." Sebastian ignored the Evanses' shocked gazes and climbed into the young man's car. Subsequently, they headed to the base. A majestic old man sat in the conference room of the base's office building. The elderly man wore a military uniform and a Lieutenant colonel epaulet. His hair was gray, and his stride was upright and majestic. "There are two things." The elderly gentleman sat in the center seat, tapping the table with his index finger. "You are the person whom Archie admires. Being a law enforcement officer in Rithfield is merely for training purposes as you will soon be transferred to Solomon. The first thing to note is that Griffin, the richest man in Rithfield, is obnoxiously arrogant. He has a lot of subordinates that are involved in crimes and they will be jailed sooner or later. Still, it is not a good look for you to hurt anyone at this stage. Hence, I don't wish to see anything like this happen again." "Yes, sir." Sebastian gave a light nod. "Secondly, you are an important man who has just returned from abroad, though I am not as well-known as you, I am still your superior after all. You are now in my territory and you must obey me no matter what. I'm hoping we'll get along well." "Copy," Sebastian replied. Sebastian had officially joined Soviani and would soon have control over Solomon. He was currently the head of the Rithfield Garrison, which was superior to the police department, and would be in charge of dealing with issues that the police department could not handle. "Try on your uniform," the old man said with a smile after his briefing to Sebastian. In front of the old man was a set of military uniforms. When Sebastian was deployed abroad, he was a general marshal. He would need time to adjust when he returned, so his rank was reduced to major general. As expected, Sebastian looked dashing after he changed into the military uniform. "How are you now that you're in Soviani?" the old man asked, admiring Sebastian. "I'm adapting," Sebastian responded, nodding. "Soviani is not an overseas territory; whatever you do, you must follow the rules. Regardless of how high your ranking is, you have to endure everything. Do you understand?" the old man asked. "Yes," Sebastian said. "Get going. If you need anything, report to me and I'll take care of it. You're a major general, so act like it." The elderly gentleman waved his hand. The old man was a kind man who was older than Sebastian's grandfather. He was strict with Sebastian in the hopes of making him the number one in Soviani and keeping his reputation from being tainted by despicable people. "Did you claim the house?" Sebastian called Noah as he walked out of the base. "Yes, I did," Noah confirmed. Soon after, Sebastian and Noah went to meet at a half-mountain villa. The entire villa, which spanned several hundred hectares, was a four-story structure with gardens, tennis courts, swimming pools, golf courses, and the parking lot could accommodate dozens of cars. He used to own the house a decade ago, but it was later occupied by Griffin. Therefore, Noah was now assisting him in reclaiming it. When she took Sebastian to look at the house, they were accompanied by a young man named Dominic, who was the deputy commander who picked Sebastian up from Evans Residence. Sebastian walked all the way to the top of the mountain, where he gazed with emotion at the various villa complexes stacked on top of each other. At last, he returned home after ten years of military service. Though he successfully reclaimed his parents' business and home, his parents were no longer here with him. At the foot of the mountain stayed the Evans Family in a bungalow. He could occasionally see Sandy if he hung around on the mountain for a long time. "Please do me a favor." As he maintained his gaze down at the mountain, Sebastian uttered quietly. "Sure," stated Noah. "There's a young man named Dustin. Please look into his family's relationship with the Montes Group. More importantly, I wish to terminate the collaboration between the Montes Group and the Smiths," Sebastian instructed. "Alright." Noah gave a light nod. "Let's also get rid of Griffin's old department," Sebastian added. "Yes," Noah stated. Tall and delicate, Noah was undoubtedly a lovely lady. She was dressed in a tight skirt, thin black pantyhose wrapped around her legs, and high-heeled shoes. Her calves and thighs were well-toned and appeared strong. Sebastian was able to make her his subordinate as long as she was not Griffin's woman. Now that Dustin had drawn Sebastian's attention, it led him to believe that it was time to reorganize the company's structure. The Montes Group was the largest company in Rithfield and its demise would affect thousands of people's livelihood as well as the entire Rithfield economy. Even if he had no intention of doing business, he was obliged to look after Montes Group. "I'll leave now, President Baker," Noah said. "Go ahead." Sebastian continued to enjoy the mountain view quietly. As he was gazing down the hill, he noticed Dominic was staring at him the whole time. "What's the matter?" Sebastian smiled and turned to face Dominic. "I heard that you're the world's leading expert." Dominic's pupils constricted slightly. "Yeah," Sebastian responded. "I came in first place in the combat zone," Dominic stated. "So?" Sebastian was confused. "If possible, I'd like to spar with you when I get the chance," expressed Dominic. "Would you like to compete with me?" Sebastian's pupils constricted. "Do you think I can't beat you?" asked Dominic. Sebastian scanned Dominic from head to toe after realizing that Dominic was serious about it. He possessed blood that was unique to men; a warrior must be physically strong and eager to compete with those who were the same level as them and Sebastian was one of the powerful men he craved. Dominic was not weak, but he was still incomparable to Sebastian. Sebastian was a strong man who was made for the battlefield. When he first went abroad as a mercenary, their army had more than three hundred Sovianese and his companions had been fighting for over a decade. He had numerous scars on his body and had risen from the pile of sacrificed bodies at least three times in his life. The battlefields were basically no different to a Shura field. "Don't look down on me because I'm inferior to you, Sebastian. If there is a chance, I would love to compete against you once." Dominic became concerned when he noticed Sebastian's contempt in his eyes. "Are you my assistant?" asked Sebastian. "Yes," Dominic replied. "All right. I'll look forward to it." Sebastian smiled as he walked downstairs. At night, Sebastian solemnly placed his parents' portraits in a room and his eyes welled up with tears as he remembered the times he spent with his parents. He tried to forget the hatred, but he could never do so. He promised himself in his heart that when he returned to Soviani this time, he would complete all of the obligations as a son one by one. The entire night was silent. Next morning, Sebastian was practicing his Taichi in the yard and Dominic joined him when he saw his activity. However, Sebastian only ignored him as he put on his normal sportswear and walked out of the villa. Just as he walked out the door to prepare for a morning run, he saw Sandy and Mandy running up the mountain and panting in their sportswear.
