Chapter 4
Glyndon slowly opened her eyes and found herself in the hospital, with drips in her hands.
“ You've woken up! Thank goodness!” Lora rushed to Glyndon’s side.
“ What happened, Lora?” She asked as she tried seating up, but the pain in her lower abdomen didn't let her.
“ You fainted after Landon pushed you and it turns out you almost had miscarriage.” Lora muttered.
“ My baby, what happened to my baby?” Glyndon used her other hand to hold her stomach.
The child might have been out of mistake, but it was still hers and she couldn't abandon or pray to miscarry her baby even though she lost her childhood love because of it.
“ Calm down. The doctor hasn't said anything about miscarriage.” Lora assured and almost immediately, the doctor walked in.
“ Mrs Kings,” she called with a smile but Glyndon was fast to cut her off.
“ I'm no more Mrs Kings, my name is Glyndon.”
“ Oh, Ms Glyndon. You were lucky, you almost lost your children.” The doctor said, causing the two friends to arch their brows.
“ What do you mean by children?” Glyndon asked.
“ You're pregnant with a triplet. I just found out after the scan and they are all healthy and strong.” The doctor said with a smile.
“ My babies are fine.” Tears welled up in her eyes.
“ Thank goodness. I can't wait to see my god children.” Lora smiled and hugged her best friend warmly.
“ Can we leave now?” Glyndon asked and the doctor nodded.
Upon getting to her apartment which she shares with Lora, she met Mrs Kings inside her black luxurious car.
It seems she had been waiting for a while now.
“ What are you doing here, Ma?” Glyndon asked, obviously surprised at the sudden visit.
“ Come in.” Mrs. Kings said and opened the car’s door for her to enter.
“ Was Landon saying the truth? I know you, Glyndon. You're the most purest soul I've ever seen, so how did it happen?”
Mrs. Kings asked, worry etched on her face.
“ It just happened Ma. I was under the influence of alcohol, so I couldn't control myself.” Glyndon replied, leaving the most important aspect of everything.
‘ How would it sound if I said I was pregnant with her oldest son? Who does that?’ she muttered inwardly.
……..
SIX YEARS LATER
After meeting with Mrs. Kings, Glyndon made up her mind to fly out to Mexico to start a new life.
She didn't want her unborn babies to grow up in a polluted environment, and moreover, she didn't want to come across Landon or even Cole.
But as far as I could tell, she was flying back to Las Vegas after six years of being in Mexico.
Glyndon exhaled loudly as she looked at the clouds outside the plane.
She was heading back to where she tried so hard to forget.
The place which brought to her both bad and good memories.
“ Mommy! Reid won't let me be. He is calling my doll names!” A soft beautiful voice came.
“ Reid, why won't you let Rihanna be? Stop causing problems. We are not the only ones on this plane.”
Glyndon scolded, her voice barely above a whisper.
“ I wasn't calling her doll names, I only said it looked like Cinderella’s evil mother.” Reid defended himself, causing Glyndon to laugh out loud.
“ It's offensive to say that to her doll.”
“ You both are always messing around. Can't you be mature for just a while?" A cold voice came from beside Glyndon.
“ Said by someone who is always on his iPad 24/7” Reid mocked.
“ At least I'm better than you two who act like you kids.” Richard replied, without shifting his gaze from his iPad.
“ If we aren't kids, then, what are we?” Rihanna and Reid replied in unison, causing other people inside the plane to stare lovely at them.
“ Enough with the noise kids and fasten your belt. We are almost in Las Vegas.” Glyndon said and the children smiled happily.
“ Yah!!!”
In less than one hour, the plane arrived at the airport in Las Vegas.
Glyndon and her children stood by the road waiting for Lora to come pick them up from the airport.
“ I'm so excited to meet my godmother!” Rihanna said, smiling from ear to ear.
“ I'm sure she's also excited to meet with the three of you.”
Glyndon replied and almost immediately a Lamborghini pulled up beside them and the face of Lora came to view.
“ Hello kiddies!” She exclaimed excitedly and the kids rushed into the car, causing Glyndon to chuckle.
“ Wow! I can't believe I'm seeing my god children for the first time in six years!” Lora smiled, staring at the triplets at the owner’s corner.
“ They looked exactly like him, I mean the two boys.” Lora whispered into Glyndon's ear, as soon as she joined them in the car.
“ Can we just go already, I don't want to talk about anything from the past.” Glyndon replied.
“ Okay.” Lora smiled and drove off.
The drive to Lora’s apartment was noisy as Rihanna and Reid kept fighting while Lora and Glyndon were busy catching up on the time they'd missed.
The ringing of Glyndon's phone, made the car silent.
“ Hello, Mr Silas. We just got to Las Vegas.” Glyndon started as soon as she picked the call.
“ We are working with the Kings Hotel and Kings Fashion House owned by Cole Kings.” Mr Silas said from the other end of the call.
“ What? Kings Hotel owned by Cole Kings?” Glyndon asked to be sure she heard him correctly.
“ Yes, do you have any problem with that?” Mr Silas asked.
“ No! No, I don't.” Glyndon muttered and hung up.
