Nico’s heart still raced as the last note of his song hung in the air. The crowd clapped, and a wave of relief washed over him. It wasn’t perfect, but it was enough. Most of the room seemed impressed, exchanging nods and murmurs of approval. Giovanni’s eyes remained on him, but there was something unreadable in his gaze.
