Chapter 3 Taking Over The Dihao Group
The next morning.
After preparing breakfast, Ye Chen got on his small electric scooter and headed to the Dihao Group.
He parked his scooter in the company’s lot, and as he was locking it, a black Bentley slowly pulled into the spot right across from him.
Looking up casually, Ye Chen saw a young couple stepping out of the car.
The man was dressed in a high-end suit with a distinguished demeanor, while the woman wore flashy clothes. Though a bit tacky in appearance, she was undeniably beautiful in a striking way.
It was Xiao Weiwei, Xiao Churan’s cousin, and her fiancé, Wang Yunfei, the young heir of the Wang family.
Ye Chen had no idea why they were visiting the Dihao Group, but to avoid unnecessary trouble, he decided to quietly walk away.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned.
Spotting Ye Chen, Xiao Weiwei immediately shouted, “Well, brother-in-law!”
That “brother-in-law” came out sounding unusually familiar, and Ye Chen couldn’t help feeling awkward.
Out of courtesy, he stopped and waited for them to approach before smiling and saying, “Weiwei, what are you doing here?”
Xiao Weiwei giggled. “I’m here with Yunfei. We’re visiting Wang Dongxue, the vice president of the Dihao Group!”
She then looked at Wang Yunfei with admiring eyes. “Yunfei’s family has many collaborations with the Dihao Group. In the future, it won’t just benefit the Wang family, it’ll help the Xiao family too.”
Ye Chen didn’t know that the Wang family had ties to the Dihao Group. After all, he had just acquired it and hadn’t had time to dive into the details.
Still, he didn’t let anything show and simply smiled. “Young Master Wang is quite impressive and talented. You two make a great match!”
Wang Yunfei looked at him with disdain, feeling a surge of resentment.
This idiot Ye Chen—who had just been humiliated by Grandma Xiao yesterday—was now strolling around like nothing happened, even smiling smugly.
How could a loser like him have married someone as beautiful as Xiao Churan?
If this piece of trash hadn’t been around, he would’ve gone after Xiao Churan himself. Instead, he was stuck getting engaged to the mediocre Xiao Weiwei.
Irritated, Wang Yunfei sneered and asked, “So, brother-in-law, what brings you to the Dihao Group?”
Ye Chen replied offhandedly, “Looking for a job.”
“A job?” Wang Yunfei snorted. “You? A loser like you thinks you can land a job at the Dihao Group?”
Ye Chen frowned. “How is that any of your business?”
Xiao Weiwei jumped in with a mocking tone, “What, Yunfei isn’t right? You got the qualifications for a job here?”
“Got any skills?”
“Someone like you wouldn’t even be hired as a security guard. If you had any dignity left, you’d go collect trash on the streets—you could make two or three grand a month that way!”
She tossed an empty bottle at his feet with a smug smile. “Here. Don’t say I don’t care about you. Pick it up and sell it for some pocket change.”
Wang Yunfei added with a laugh, “Even though you’re trash, you’re still family, so I’ll help you out. I know the vice president here—how about I get you a job cleaning the toilets?”
Ye Chen gave a cold smile. “I’ll find my own job, no need for your charity. You should focus on yourself. Dihao Group is a serious company—they’d never partner with trash like you.”
Wang Yunfei flared up. “Who the hell are you calling trash, you bastard?!”
Ye Chen sneered, “You. You’re the trash.”
Without another word, he turned and headed toward the Dihao Group building.
“You’ve got a death wish, bastard! Just wait!” Wang Yunfei rushed after him and caught up in front of the elevators.
He was about to give Ye Chen a beating—at least a couple of slaps to humble him—but seeing they were inside the Dihao building, he held back. He didn’t want to offend the company’s people.
Through clenched teeth, he muttered, “You’re lucky today. Next time, you won’t get off so easy.”
Ye Chen chuckled as he stepped into the elevator and said, “Wang Yunfei, you really think you’re all that? Trust me, you’re about to learn how much your arrogance is worth.”
“What did you say, you bastard?” Wang Yunfei moved to follow him into the elevator.
Xiao Weiwei quickly pulled him back, scoffing, “Don’t ride the same elevator as that trash. You’ll catch his stench.”
Wang Yunfei nodded, knowing he couldn’t deal with him here, and said coldly, “I’ll let you off this time. But next time? You’re done.”
...
Ye Chen went straight to the executive offices.
Inside the Dihao Group, Tang Sihai had already arranged everything for him. The person he was meeting was a woman named Wang Dongxue.
Wang Dongxue was a well-known figure in Jinling—one of the city’s most influential businesswomen. Not only was she beautiful, but she also had outstanding capabilities. At a young age, she had risen to become the vice president of the Dihao Group, and the company’s success owed much to her.
Now that the Dihao Group had been acquired by the Ye family, the former chairman had stepped down, and Wang Dongxue had stayed on to assist the new president.
When she saw Ye Chen, Wang Dongxue was stunned. She hadn’t expected the young master of the Ye family to be so young—and so elegant!
Without wasting a second, sherespectfully stepped forward to welcome him. “Young Master, please follow me to my office.”
