Lucian’s POV I shoved the door open with a thud, my eyes immediately catching sight of Alison sprawled across the floor, her body shaking uncontrollably as sobs escaped her lips. She looked like she’d seen a ghost—or worse—and without wasting a second, I rushed to her side, wrapping my arms around her and lifting her gently off the ground. She clung to me almost instantly, burying her face in my chest, her arms wrapped tightly around my back as if letting go would send her crumbling.
