Chapter 8 Learning You

[Evelyn’s POV] “Come help me with a massage.” I bit the inside of my cheek to keep my mouth from falling open. I had no idea where I was allowed to look. My cheeks continued to profusely flush the longer I stood in the doorway of the bathroom. Alexander was completely and utterly naked and I had no clue where I was supposed to look. It felt wrong to stare at someone in such a compromising position; however, I was also terribly intrigued. From what I could tell, Alexander was not a man who held any shame or bashfulness when it came to his body. Nor would he have a reason to... The man was astoundingly built. Every muscle he owned was well-defined and perfectly sculpted as though he were made of pure marble. I wanted to scold myself for out-rightly gawking at him. I think it reached past the point where my ongoing staring could have been considered ‘studying’. It started from his neck and gradually traveled down the planes of his torso. Alexander had a few scars, but nothing that looked relatively new. His abdomen was a clear sign that even in his current state, he didn’t give up exercise and remained active. Slowly, my eyes dared to travel lower...Oh my... The heat that kept buzzing in my cheeks began sinking lower as well. Thanks to the bubbling suds that the maids must have used when setting up the bath for him, Alexander was able to keep an ounce of modesty for himself. But it wasn’t much. Alexander’s voice came out rough and low in his throat. “Evelyn.” He snapped me out of my mental train of thought, causing me to yank my eyes away from him and take a deep breath in. “Yes? What? I...I’m sorry, I didn’t catch what you were saying...” Oh God. Had he been talking that whole time while I was literally staring at him like a hormonal teenager? I half-anticipated for Alexander to get angry at my obliviousness; however, the corner of his mouth curved upward into an amused smile. “I was saying that my doctor has advised me to get muscle massages as often as possible to keep the circulation in my body going,” he said. “Care to help me?” I gave a meek nod and muttered under my breath. “Of course.” I nervously moved closer and around the side of the bathtub till I was kneeling behind him. Alexander moved himself to sit a little bit forward, allowing me access to his back and shoulders. Right as I had my hands placed out to begin rubbing his tense shoulders, I stopped. I wasn’t sure what this night was going to lead to. During my time with Liam, although we had kissed, we never did anything more. He always knew that I wanted to save it for my wedding night. But that was then...And this is now. Alexander must have picked up my trepidation as he turned to glance over his shoulder. “Why the hesitation?” he asked. “And here I thought you admired me and I wanted to take care of me.” Seeing Alexander’s calm, scrutinizing gaze, I was quick to realize that this could, very well, have been another test from him. Words mean nothing unless there are actions to back them up. Get it together, Evelyn. It was just a massage, right? I steeled my emotions and proceeded to place my hands on his shoulders. Pressing the pads of my thumbs into his back in a constant rotation, I began massaging him. Alexander let out an appreciative groan that caused my stomach to flip several times. His head fell forward and he flexed his muscles. A burst of heat dipped between my thighs. Unfortunately, because of the way the tub was designed, I wasn’t able to keep my hands in the same position for long. It was becoming difficult for me to keep going due to the awkward angle in which my arms were bending. “Don’t be afraid to press in harder,” he grunted. “I’m trying...I just...Having a hard time reaching over the edge,” I said. Breathing hard, Alexander pulled himself forward, creating space behind him in the bath. “Why don’t you get in and sit behind me?” Without so much as a second thought, I lifted my leg to step into the water but was stopped by a firm press of Alexander’s hand against my shin. “You shouldn’t come in with your clothes on,” he noted. My heart jumped into my throat. Was he expecting me to get in the bath with him naked too?! Alexander’s gaze lazily flickered over my body. “Perhaps, I’d like to learn what my wife looks like as well,” he said thickly. I honestly wish I knew if he was still toying with me or not. That feeling of fascination I’d felt earlier when I was first looking at him drastically shifted into something much deeper. A lustful, unbridled heat simmered and buzzed beneath my skin. Although I wasn’t entirely familiar with the feeling, I knew that I wanted to explore it with him. Trial be damned, I wanted him to look at me the way I was looking at him. Alexander watched my every move as I reached behind me to undo the zipper of my dress. Pushing it off my shoulders, I let the soft material slip from my shoulders. My eyes darted around nervously. “Like this?” A breathless sigh escaped my lips when he lazily dragged the pads of his fingers over my leg and slowly up the inner side of my thigh. He shook his head. “No. I want all of it off.” On a deep inhale, I undid the clasp of my bra and shed what was left of my clothes onto the floor. I carefully slipped into the tub behind Alexander and lowered myself down. From there, I was able to continue my earlier ministrations. My hands firmly kneaded at his shoulders and made their way down the sides of his back. When I got to his hips, one of my hands accidentally slipped due to the suds and my fingers accidentally brushed against something long and hard. My whole body went still as stone. I barely stopped the nervous squeak that slipped from my mouth. There had been rumors that Alexander’s lower body had been injured and that there was a likely chance it would have affected his sexual ability. That’s clearly not the case. Suddenly, he grabbed my hand. “What are you so nervous about?” he questioned. “Shouldn’t you have been anticipating this kind of thing before you arrived here?” I realized that my behavior wasn’t exactly that of a passionate admirer. After a long pause, I finally spoke. “It’s just that...Well...I’m a virgin.” The bathroom fell silent only for the sound of Alexander’s chuckling to fill the space a miniature later. Before I had a real chance to process what was going on, a soft, female voice called from the door. “The Old Alpha and Luna are here. They want to ask about… Evelyn,” Nina called out. Alexander’s parents were here? Weren’t they supposed to be busy and couldn’t attend the wedding today? Alexander didn’t seem surprised. “In that case, have Evelyn go out and call a servant to come,” he said. Feeling relieved, I quickly dried myself off, put my dress back on, and prepared to leave. “I have a few matters to take care of, so you will go down first.” My heart stalled in my chest. Was I seriously facing these people alone?
