Chapter 2 The Chosen Queen

Enjoy your day guys. It was in the morning of the following day. Juliana’s mother had gone to wake Nora and Juliana up so that they could start dressing for the event. All what their parents care about was just for one of them to become the Queen, and didn’t care about the dreams that they might have. Their parents had been at the living room, well dressed and waiting for them to come out. Few minutes later, Nora and Juliana came down from upstairs at the same time. Nora was wearing the lovely dress that she switched with Juliana’s own. She wore a beautiful makeup, looking so gorgeous and attractive. Juliana wasn’t even wearing the dress that their father bought for them. It was a short gown that she wore, packed her long hair at the middle of her head and wearing her natural beauty. She was looking like an escort that was escorting the Queen to the palace. “Why did you dress like this Juliana? You don’t look attractive at all” Their mother nagged in loud voice. “What is this that you are wearing? What happened to the dress I bought for you?” Their father too asked at the same time. “It got burnt as I was trying to iron it” Juliana responded, and her father felt like slapping her as she said so. “How could you? How could you be so stupid and senseless? You burnt the dress that I used thousand of dollars to buy for you and your sister. You are now wearing this nonsense cloth; look like a maid that is working in the palace” their father yelled in aggressive tone. “Look at you, just take look at yourself. Do you think the King will find you attractive like this? Or he will even want to choose you as his Queen” Nora was really happy inside her as their parents were giving negative comments about Juliana. This had been given her hope that she was surely the King’s Queen. “Take a look at your sister, see how gorgeous and elegantly she is. Now, do you think the King will choose you over her?” Their father said with anger showed all over him. “I am not interested anyway” Juliana murmured. “Will you shut up?” Their father yelled at her as she said so. “Listen to me, if you use your stupidity to let me miss this opportunity and the King is unable to choose anyone of you. I am going to DISOWN you, and I mean it” Their father said in a nervous tone. Juliana just looked down, and felt so unhappy. She couldn’t believe that her parents could take marriage more important than her study, than her dream. “Let’s go” their father commanded in aggressive tone and going out. Nora followed their father, cat-walking with the heal shoe she put on and she had started acting as a Queen already. Juliana was the last person to leave the house, looking so cool and walking slowly. She got down to the compound, entered into the car with others and faced her back at everyone. The driver started the engine of the car and driving out. ******** Palace wasn’t really far from their house, they arrived there after few minutes and the car parked. All of them got down from the car and going to the King’s chamber. The elders of the Kingdoms and some of the reporters were in the hall. The reporters were there to capture the movement, and made the announcement of the new Queen to be. The guards at the entrance door opened the door for the Prime Mister and his family. The King was coming in from another entrance in the hall while Prime Mister and his family too were entering in. The King was a young man at his thirties, and he was crowned few months ago. The King was tall, handsome, he was every woman’s dream. He was looking so attractive and glowing like morning sun. “Greetings to you the King, may you live long” All of them in the hall greeted him with honor and respect. He responded and sat down on his throne. His male maid walked closer to him, carried a small kettle on a small stool beside the throne and started pouring wine. “My King, your assignment has been carried out and here are the ladies choosing for you” Prime Minister said and pointing at his daughters. “Oh! Okay” King did as he drank the wine, and he wet his lips. “Is she the only one you bought?” King asked and referring to Nora. The way Juliana dressed; it brought a second thought and couldn’t really let people know that she too was there for the same purpose. “No, it’s two of them. They are twins, so I decided to bring two of them. Ignore her dressing, look at another qualifications my King” Prime Mister said with smiles on his face. He turned his face at Juliana, looked at her aggressively. “Okay, if you said so Prime Minister” King muttered in low voice. He put the mug in his hand down on the stood, and stood up on his feet. He got down to where Juliana and Nora were, standing at the front of them and examining them. Nora and Juliana were standing beside each other, and stared at the King as he was checking them out. It was different expressions that were on their faces. Nora was showing a smiling and seductive look. While Juliana just franked her face and looking at him normally. “You look so beautiful, my lady” King threw a comment to Nora. Nora smiled romantically and showed her appreciation. “Let me have a talk with you, my Lady” King added in low voice to Nora. “Alright my King! I’m yours” Nora said in smiling tone. King held her hand, and taking her to a room inside the hall. Two of them got back to where people were after some minutes. It was smiles that full Nora’s face and really happy. The King walked closer to Juliana at where she was sitting, standing at the front of her and stared at her for few minutes. “Let me have a talk with you my Lady” he said the same thing to her. Juliana didn’t say anything, just got up and ready to follow him. King gave her his hand, and expecting her to hold him but Juliana didn’t. He withdrew his hand back and leading the way. Two of them entered into a room, King sat down on the couch and crossed his legs. Juliana sat down opposite to him, and staring at each other. “I’m sure you know why you are here, so you should know that what to do is to introduce yourself” King said in gentle voice. “I am Juliana, Prime Mister’s daughter” she spoke and kept quiet. “Is that all?” King asked in astonishment tone. “Yes” Juliana responded in harsh tone, and like two of them were fighting. “Fine, but why would you dress like this when you know what you are coming here to do and the kind of place you’re coming too. Or, this is your own way of thinking that you can attract me?” “I am not here to attract you or to make you have interest in me. They want me here, and here I am” Juliana replied in loud voice. King separated his legs and repositions the way he was sitting. “Oh, so you mean you are not happy to be a Queen or you’re just trying to be pretending---“ “Nothing to be pretending for, I have no interest in all these and it will good you choose the person who is interested already” Juliana uttered in harsh tone as the King was talking. “Hmm!” He did in low voice. He kept silent for a while, and looking at her. “Why are you sounding so harsh, do you have a boyfriend outside there?” He asked. “No, but my dream is not to be a Queen. Im not interested in this royal life. I want to pursue my dream, and nothing is going to stop it, not even all these nonsense!” Juliana yelled. “Hmm, your actions and personality really show something lovely about you” King chuckled softly. Juliana looked at him and didn’t understand what he means. “Let’s go out” The King uttered, he got up and going out. Juliana followed him and walking behind him. Two of them returned back to where people were, and Juliana returned back to her family. Nora and Juliana got up on their feet after few minutes, and standing beside each other. King looked at two of them, passed beside them and walked round the place first. He returned back, and faced them with a serious look on his face. “After examining and had conversations with my ladies, I have decided to choose my Queen between two of them” Prime Mister was so excited as he heard this. “My Queen to be and the lady I choose as my forever Queen is JULIANA” “WHAT!” Nora screamed in astonishment voice as the King said so, and took a glance at Juliana with terrible look. “I see that you are bold, smart, and I love your personality. With all these, I think you fit as my Queen and you will have the intelligence to rule my Kingdom with me. Therefore, you’re my new Queen my lady” he muttered in smiling tone and wanted to hold her hand. “DO NOT TOUCH ME!” Juliana yelled angrily, and pushed the King away that he almost lost his stability. The guards ran to him and wanted to seize Juliana for doing such. “Hey, she has been chosen as my Queen, so she deserves full respect” King nagged at the guards. They quickly apologized and steeped back. “I like you, and I want you, therefore nothing can stop you from being my Queen” King said with smiles. “YOU'RE CRAZY! Please, I am out of here” Juliana said in aggressive tone and going out with anger showed all over her. “I am so sorry my King, please forgive me!” Prime Minister apologized on her behalf and quickly ran after her. Prime Minister, his wife, and Nora got down to the compound and met Juliana standing beside the car crying. Their father walked closer to her, and gave her a dirty slap. “How could you do that at the front of the King, and still have the gut to walkout from that place” her father said in anger. “Despite the way you dressed, he still found you attractive and chose you. You now have the gut to walk away from him and acted stupidly” Juliana looked at her father in the eyes. “I am not interested in all these; I don’t want all these secured life. I don’t want all these over protective, leaving with protocols and rules. I want to live a free life and act normal” She said with tears wet her face like water. “I have a dream, and it must come true!” She said with anger. “Listen to me and listen carefully, the King has chosen you as his Queen and whether you like it or not you’re marrying him” their father yelled. Juliana changed the expression on her face, stared at her father with bitterness and aggression. “No one can force me into this or jeopardize my dream from being a medical Doctor. IF YOU WANT TO DISOWN ME, DO SO, FATHER. Excuse me!” She yelled in fierce eyes at her father, passed beside him and running out of the palace. “Where are you going to, Juliana? Come back her!” their mother screamed loudly. “Let me go after her, I will talk to her and she will be fine” Nora said and ran after Juliana like she had good intent. ********* That was the last time Juliana’s parents set their eye on their two daughters. They didn’t return that day, and it was since then they had been searching for them.
