Chapter 7

7. Shocking Me To The Deepest Core Serena's POV "This is preposterous. Unacceptable. I don't understand how everything got to this. What the hell were you doing that you couldn't caution your child to maintain her lane and not place her sights in the places she can't reach? What exactly were you doing?!!!" Elder Mobius of the werewolf clan, Damon's dad, is thundering in the Blackthorn mansion, where I remain seated, gazing at the ground with extreme fear in my senses. I am surrounded by our parents, Damon and I, and it is increasing my fear all the more because dad is currently situated in a section of the large expansive sitting room with his legs crossed, relaxed back against the sofa, piercing me with that frightening gaze that tells me that a series of endless punishments are my portion by the time this discussion is over. He looks impatient as he continues to tap his foot on the floor relentlessly, increasing the fear in my body. "This is one of the biggest abominations I've ever heard in my entire life in the supernatural world. How the hell did you have the guts to bring your insignificant, corrupted, forbidding body close to my son?" Elder Mobius resumes, thundering loudly and endlessly, his voice is loud and sharp in growls, echoing around the large sitting room. His aura is blaring all over the entire sitting room, trembling the floors and the chairs, making me shiver where I'm seated. Dad just sighs and begins to rub his fingers along his eyes as if confused about the entire situation. Mom, however, doesn't seem to entertain the words he just spoke. She stands up abruptly before pointing her finger at him with fury in her eyes. "I understand that this is one of the biggest mistakes she has committed but it still doesn't give you the right to open your mouth to talk about my daughter in that manner." "And you, on the other hand, should maintain your level and put your filthy trap back to where it should be. Stinking little pests like you should not be included when the supernaturals are talking. Don't you understand that? What the hell are you even doing in this meeting?" Luna Sera, Damon's mom, who had been silent all the while, speaks up immediately, and this makes me jerk back, my heart beating endlessly in my chest. "Enough!!" Dad says abruptly, creating Intense silence, and I gulp. His voice says it all. He is visibly not happy about the entire issue. Where the hell is Damon? He should be here by now. He should get here as fast as he can so that this matter can be attended to immediately. I cannot bear to remain the only child in the presence of these adults arguing endlessly with each other. I can't contain or begin to explain the amount of fear in my body. The issue presently being discussed is something I cannot believe. I could not believe that I was so drunk all through last night to figure out that the person I allowed to get to me in the club was Damon. The video has said it all. His father had gone the extra mile to employ the best graphic designers in the city to edit the video and bring it to its full, sharpest capacity, just to ensure that it was not Damon. Maybe he didn't believe it. But well, everything was so evident that it was me and Damon on that bed in the red room in the club. What the hell was I thinking? I am screwed beyond measure. I can't contain and control my body to keep it at bay. I am trembling visibly as I clench my palms together trying to regain control of my sanity. My mind is in chaos presently. What the hell have I done? The moment this discussion is over, I can already picture the amount of shouts and insults and yells I'm going to receive from my mom. Oh, do not even let me think about my dad. It is over for me. I might be kicked out of school. I don't even know what to think. "I don't care about the circumstance or the situation that led to what happened. I just know that a very wise plan has to come up right now because this news has spread and reached even the lords of the supernatural world. It has tarnished my reputation far beyond what I can imagine. The elders of the witches and the shapeshifters are already giving me some sort of impression that I can't even begin to bear. Why couldn't you watch your daughter and why did you let her go about the way she lived recklessly?" Elder Mobius's voice is so sharp and so piercing, sounding in endless growls as if he is threatening to unleash his wolf. This makes me shift nervously, uneasily in my seat as I continue to stare at the ground, slight tears dripping out of my eyes. I don't think I can bear the torment of his presence anymore. I need to get out of here. I have messed up big time, this shouldn't be happening. It is already enough stress on my parents as they go through so many turmoils and persecutions in the supernatural world because my mum is a human, the outcome of their union which is me, and then, there is that stupid rule that has been stipulated that humans shouldn't be aware that the supernatural world exists. This has been my biggest obstacle right from the moment I was born. I've been looked upon as a pest, someone who shouldn't be indulging or moving along with the supernaturals. Even with the humans, none of them has ever acknowledged my presence or even considered me. Though they are unaware of the presence of the supernatural world, it still makes me wonder why they will regard me as someone who doesn't fit into society. This feels like some sort of divine or sorcery work at play here. I don't even understand. I stand up abruptly, unable to bear the frightening aura of Elder Mobius and my dad mixing all over the atmosphere of the sitting room. "I need to use the restroom," I say immediately and turn to leave. "Sit back down there right now!!" Dad's voice boomed loudly all over the sitting room, forcing me to freeze immediately. I gulp down hard and slowly reverse back the way I came sitting back down on the chair and clenching my palms together. I lace my fingers together as I tremble visibly finding it hard to look up straight at him. I am scared of what I might see. He is going to kill me with those frightening red pupils of his, those pupils that seem to have the burning embers of hell itself embedded in them. The doorbell to the apartment suddenly rings loudly, jolting all of us. We all turn to the entrance of the sitting room. Oh goddess, please let it be Damon. I need him to be here right now so that we can get this meeting over with immediately. I need to get out of here. The terrifying auras in the air are choking the living daylight out of me. The fact that I am not completely supernatural is what is making it so hard to bear it. I wonder how my mom is still able to sit down firmly right there without actually feeling the pain of this terrifying aura. Maybe it is because all the attention is directed towards me. I am the culprit here. "Get your silly ass in here right now!" Elder Mobius' voice is loud and clear, shaking the walls of the mansion. That makes me tremble once again on the sofa. Oh, Goddess! The entrance slowly opens and Damon reveals himself looking casual as if nothing is happening in his environment. He shuts the door slowly behind him and walks into the sitting room with both hands in his pocket, biting endlessly on a piece of chewing gum as he raises an eyebrow and scans everyone in the living room. "Hello, Serena's parents, hello, mom, hello, dad." He says and casually walks up towards the sofa where I am seated. He sits down beside me and flashes me the most dazzling smile I have ever seen in my life. I don't know why that makes my heart grow warm a little bit. "Hello, Serena." He says and I suddenly feel my heart skip a bit. Why does he have to be so cute whenever he smiles like that? I blink and immediately look away from him. I pick up a chair pillow a few meters away from me and then hug it tightly, trying to contain the fear in my chest. Ignorant bastard. "So now that you are here, Damon, do you have anything reasonable to tell me about the trending scandal between you and Serena, whom you are not supposed to ever come in close contact with?" Elder Mobius's voice echoes in a sharp commanding tone. Damon looks at his father, and it is so shocking to me to the deepest core that he is not as frightened as I am by the presence of that man who seems to have the capability of ending anyone's existence with just a snap of his finger.
