Ten minutes later, the sound of the front door opening echoed through the house. I quickly stood up, my heart racing in my chest. My father had arrived.
I saw him walk in, his eyes scanning the house with surprise. He had never been here before, but I could tell from the look on his face that he was impressed by the size of the place. He had heard about Theo’s wealth, but seeing it in person was a whole different story. It was hard not to notice the way his mind was working—wondering how someone could have so much, yet still hold onto grudges over something like four million dollars.
