Celeste stormed into her apartment, her heels echoing against the floor as she shut the door with more force than necessary. The silence swallowed her, but it did nothing to quiet the fire still licking at her skin. She was burning— for him, from him, because of him. She had gone to him, knowing exactly what would happen, only to be dismissed like she was nothing more than a pawn in his game.
