Chapter 4 Lucien Layne
•~ ROY LAYNE ~•
Just how twisted fate could be?
The woman I was looking for, came to my doorstep giving me a golden opportunity to make her pay for what she did.
For the humiliation she made me go through.
I'll be more than happy to give her the job so that she stays with me, leading me to the uttermost indulgence.
"Ah.. how lovely."
I will make her pay, the tingling sensation of my cheeks won't fade away until I make her go through the same disgrace.
Until she would beg me for forgiveness.
No woman ever dared to displease me and her, how could she...
I sighed deeply and went home. I went to the lounge and saw Mother and Mr. Layne looking at me, stoic as usual. I came to Mother and kissed her forehead and smiled.
"Welcome, Son." Mother smiled.
"Thanks. Where's Lucien?" I asked about my twin brother.
"At the studio." I nodded and was about to leave but I heard Mr. Layne saying in his usual stern voice.
"Your father is here too."
"Evening, Mr. Layne." I said coldly.
"Disrespectful child. Is that what you call your Father?" He growled. I just ignored him and went to my room.
I took a shower and changed into my casual buttoned midnight blue shirt with my brown ripped jeans and went to Lucien's Studio.
Lucien Layne, my twin brother, the infamous photographer, Dream.
We were alike, I just used women for my physical pleasure and he could use 'anyone' as long as he could find amusement in it.
Consider him worse than me, he was a dangerous and ruthless man...
Persuading someone was something we have learned from Mr. Layne or one should say, he made us.
"Ay, Lucien!"
I entered his studio and saw him doing a photo shoot for Patricia, she was a famous model.
I had met her quite a few times and had a 'good' time with her. I walked closer and leaned on the wall waiting for the shoot to be finished.
Soon, his work finished and he turned to look at me. I look like Mother and he looks like Mr. Layne, long brown hair along with captivating green eyes.
He turned to me and smiled widely as he gave me a side hug.
"Hey, Dude, when did you come?"
I just released a quiet laugh and replied, "Just now."
He held a menacing smile all the time which would make you doubt his sanity and that he would do anything agonizing.
But he just kept smiling. Dangerously.
"Good thing you are here, Roy, I wanted to see you too. Is your interview done?"
His low, amused resonance came, being so cheery always that I found him questionable.
"Yeah, why are you asking?"
"I need a favor from you,"
"What?" I asked nonchalantly, witnessing the eye-catching photos my brother clicked.
He could even make coal look beautiful.
"Pat, babe, you are done,"
"Good to see you here, Roy."
Patricia came to me and hummed in her seductive voice as she placed her hand over my shoulder, wiping my smile.
I spared a glance at her and she smiled suggestively.
At the moment, my blood was flaring so I wasn't in the mood. I just hummed in response and turned to Lucien, ignoring her.
"You free now? Let's go to the club." I offered, holding my sides, pushing Patricia's hand off from me.
Her smile faded away, "What happened, Roy? Are you okay?"
"Your shoot ended, isn't it, Patricia?" I retorted coldly, giving her a warning state.
"Pat, you go. We'll talk later." Lucien smirked faintly, snapping his fingers twice for her to leave.
Her smile faded, glaring at us as Lucien arched an eyebrow out of pure amusement. She turned away grumpily and left.
After she left, Lucien asked playfully, "What happened, Roy?"
"Pushing a woman away... it's rare coming from you. I thought you never let any prey go,"
"Right now, I desire only one woman." I spoke my words with venom but it evoked a laugh from Lucien.
"One? Did you hit your head or are you in love?"
"None."
"Then?"
"Let go."
A scornful laugh escaped Lucien's lips, he laughed as if he had heard the most funniest thing ever which broke my non-existent patience.
He took a shot of his drink and looked at me as I sat there annoyed, rolling my eyes as we were in the VIP room, watching the people indulge in my club.
"I-"
He leaned in and put his hand over my shoulder and chuckled again to flare my burning ego which worked proficiently.
"Fuck you, asshole,"
"Sorry, I just need a moment,"
I glared at him, displaying all my frustration that elicited nothing but scorn from the green eyed man.
"I can't believe a girl can resist you? My brother, the king of temptation."
"Are you mocking me?" I hissed, slightly angered.
He continued to laugh and shook his head no, slamming his hand down, he finished his drink in one go and exhaled loudly, lifting his gaze dangerously as he offered temptingly.
"Do you want me to do something about her?" He asked enticingly and I shivered, shaking my head in denial.
I knew my brother, what a beast he was.
Plus, I won't let him lay his eyes on my prey.
"No, no," I replied hastily, shaking my head in denial.
"Then?" He chuckled.
"Stop laughing first!"
I was enraged and took a shot of my drink, hoping to seal his lips.
His unbearable laughter finally died down as he moved back and put his elbow on the counter and began to tease me.
"Look, Roy, honestly, it's hard to believe a girl slapped you."
"I didn't even want to get laid with her..I.. I just wanted to know the reason for her tears." I confessed, the fact which was bothering me the most.
"She was crying?"
I nodded, tightening my grip on the glass, making a crack on it and replied, "Yeah.. I don't know why but she was.. And I simply wanted to know what immersed a sculpture of bewitch in woe."
"I mean, yeah, everyone has sorrows but why did she cry there?" I told him the strange thoughts afflicting my mind.
"Are you sure it was only an attraction?" He furrowed his eyebrows.
"What else could it be?" I questioned back.
He shook his head as a silence fell upon us and after a while Lucien asked, "So.. How are you supposed to take your revenge?"
A malicious smirk crept upon my lips while my eyes blazed, espying at him.
"She came to my office today for the interview as my personal assistant."
"You are such a wicked person Roy, I can even sense your intentions." My smirk grew dark as I retorted.
"Less than you." He snickered and asked, "By the way, what's her name? Because I also need you to hire-"
"Garnet Beth."
Upon hearing it, Lucien straightened his back with bewilderment flashing in his eyes, he was still for the next few seconds.
"Does she have green eyes?"
He paused, jaw gradually clenching with shock but soon faded as he rubbed his temples.
"Yeah.. So..." I said, shrugging my shoulders.
This was not good.
He let out a husky, suppressed titter, slamming his hand on the counter and ran his hands in his hairs which caused me to raise an eyebrow at him.
"Marvelous! I knew the offer was too good to resist, she would definitely come!"
My mouth gaped, "Did you... call her?"
"Mhm, give her the invitation letter. I wanted you to hire her. For me," He winked.
"Why?"
"Do you remember Roy, My time in Canada? Seven Years ago?" I just hummed and he continued.
"She was also there. I didn't know she came to New York. Let me tell you, She is a fascinating woman, she will serve as the perfect enlivenment."
"You know her?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yeah.. She was enrolled in the academy because of her scholarship. She was a star student but poor soul couldn't maintain that status and was suspended. I bet there must be a gap in her CV." He hummed.
"It was. She doesn't have any specific degree." I was so perplexed by this.
'Lucien knows Garnet? Moreover, he wanted me to hire her? Why?'
I never thought Lucien would know Garnet but his contacts had extended extremely, he knows everyone but her too was astonishing.
"She dropped out... Rather.. Suspended..."
"Suspended? Why?"
"Always losing what's near her heart, heavily influenced by the ones around her. You cannot break her easily, she is not fragile." He shrugged and then flashed an objectionable smirk, licking his lips.
"Though untouched. I am amazed she resisted your fingers,"
He mumbled monotonously brushing his finger on the tip of his glass and my curiosity to know her increased.
"Untouched?"
"Yes, not only a virgin but never had a lover too. Completely untouched." Ah, my, my.
"How do you know this much?"
He turned and looked at me and enunciated darkly, completely ignoring my question.
"Because is my prey, I wanted you to hire her to make her my toy-"
"She is 'my' prey, Lucien. Stay out of it." I growled.
Pointing my finger at him to stay away from my victim, I won't bear his involvement in my matter.
He took his leather jacket from his seat and began to say.
"We will see who wins first, Brother,"
He stood up and smirked at me, sparking a challenge I won't back away from.
"Either your revenge... or my extortion?"
My smirk also grew wider as I replied strongly, having no intentions of failing.
"We will see,"
He let out a quiet jeering laugh and left me all alone in my undesirable thoughts after starting a lethal game.
I stared at the crack in the glass with a blaze igniting in my eyes as I threw the glass away, shattering it to pieces.
"Garnet is my prey. All, fucking, mine,"
Never thought I would start a challenge with Lucien but I swear, I won't lose, I will defeat him.
I won't let him steal my target, this time, he would taste defeat.
We will see. What was going to break you first, Garnet Beth.
Either your past or your present.
