Chapter 6
Sam scanning Chloe from her bosoms, her waist, then to her bottom, she was classy, elegant while not sleazy and altogether absolutely flawless. Yet Sam only praised his own fashion sense and walked to the checkout.
Chloe gently requested the shop assistant to cut off all of the price tags on her new clothes and pack up the old ones.
Once they left the shop, Sam drove her to a spa salon.
Once they walked in, having dazzling charm with a luxurious race car behind him, Sam caught the eyes of almost all the other female customers in wonder.
Sam got on his eyes fixed on one of the markup rooms, with a stunning stylist inside waiting for a while.
Seeing him come in, a familiar voice greeted Sam, "Hi!" Alisa Evans then turned to Chloe with an interest, "Name's Alisa. Nice to meet you!"
"I'm Chloe Stark."
Sam introduced Alisa to Chloe casually, "This is one of my sister-in-law's shops. Alisa is her business partner. Whenever there is an event any of us in the family needs to go, he is our go-to stylist."
After a pause, Sam turned to Alisa, "She is all yours. I'm gonna go out for a smoke."
"You got it, hon!," said Alisa with a smile.
To start with, Chloe had to take off her hairband and let her hair down. Alisa felt her hair and commented, "Miss Stark's hair is fabulous! Soft like a kitten!"
Chloe said modestly, "Why, thank you."
Alisa suggested, "I planned to design a wavy bob to match the shape of your face. But let's not ruin such beautiful hair."
Truth be told, Chloe did not really have a choice.
Alisa was delicate with her fingers and worked her magic on Chloe's hair. Her gentle touches had made Chloe drowsy.
Completely relaxed, Chloe seemed to hear Alisa say, "There're only so few women who could make Mr. Bolton care so much. You're the second one, Miss Stark."
Chloe yawned and asked, "Who was the first one?"
"I am sorry. It's not for me tell." Alisa replied.
"Mr. Bolton, please take a look." Alisa called Sam back into the spa salon.
When the door was opened, Chloe was accompanied by Alisa. Leaning against the wall, Sam, who was smoking, squinted to try to observe her changes.
Being a rich playboy such as Sam, he had feasted his eyes on so many beautiful women he could not keep count. But once he laid eyes on the fully transformed Chloe, he decided that all those girls he had seen were absolutely nothing.
"Somebody likes what he's looking at." Alisa found Sam's reaction amusing.
Sam shook his head slightly and denied, "No, I am just admiring your craft."
In the Bolton villa.
The sports car was parked in the outer yard.
And Sam and Chloe walked into the house side by side.
Waiting for the newly-wed, Hank and his wife, Sam's older brother Owen and his wife, and Freya were all sitting in the living room.
Everyone's eyes lit up at the sight of Chloe.
Though her outfit was gender-neutral, she did not lose her touches of femininity with her new hairstyle complimenting her pretty face. Standing next to Sam whose face was like one of god's greatest creations, Chloe did not look any less remarkable.
Jumping out of her chair when she saw Chloe, in a flash Freya appeared in front of Chloe and shouted, "Sister-in-law!"
Feeling her sister-in-law's gaze all over her body, she couldn't help but take a step back. "Um... Hello."
Freya pouted with curiosity, "Hey sis, you're are really pretty! What is your skincare routine to have such great skin? Where did you buy all your cosmetics? Japan or South Korea?"
As Freya was bombarding Chloe with questions, Chloe gently rub her face with the back of her right hand, confirming Freya's compliments.
"Freya, mind your manners." Owen, as the eldest son, cut in after noticing the uneasiness from Chloe.
"Oh sorry..." Freya stopped talking compliantly.
Chloe gathered herself and started to address everyone in the room, "Dad, mom, elder brother, sister-in-law."
Feeling neglected, Freya pointed at her nose and asked, "What about me?"
Looking at her aunt who was only three or four years younger than her, Chloe tried, "Freya?"
"Ehh!" Freya was satisfied by Chloe's response.
Seeing his sister, his brother and his sister-in-law approving the introduction of Chloe, Sam was quite delighted deep down.
He believed that Chloe's instant popularity in the family was because of all the preparations he made, which saved Chloe from humiliations.
Since Hank had met Chloe before, he whispered to his wife Eve Watson, "My love, what do you think of our new daughter-in-law?"
Eve replied calmly, "Time will tell."
Hank slightly looked down while shaking his head. He knew his wife well enough. To her, Sam was still just a little boy and she was not ready to let go.
Perhaps every mother had a similar fear that their sons would abandon them for their wives.
Nora Clark, Sam's sister-in-law, gently suggested to Eve, "Mom, everyone's here. Shall we have dinner?"
After the meal, Hank wanted to have a chat with the young ones in the family. However, Sam took the lead to go upstairs, leaving everyone behind without a word.
Hank was angry yet helpless. After all, He threatened Sam that he would take away 30% of Sam's shares of Dane if he refused to marry Chloe.
Left in the dining room, Chloe was puzzled and did not understand the purpose of his behaviour. Maybe it was his way of protesting over this marriage against his will.
She faked a smile as if she had forced him into marrying her.
Perhaps, it was not a bad thing. The more Sam rejected this marriage, the easier it would be when they got divorced.
