The man immediately fell silent under Layson’s icy glare. Layson didn’t bother to explain or respond. He simply walked away, leaving the group behind. Marah, who had been standing with her head bowed, couldn’t help but smile as Layson walked off. She took it as a sign that he was willing to listen to her and quickly followed him. Layson, however, had no intention of engaging with her.
