Amanda walked over to the side of the bed and gently took his hand in hers. “I’m sorry for running away,” she said softly. “I just needed a moment to gather my thoughts.” Edward squeezed her hand, his eyes searching hers for reassurance. “It’s okay,” he replied quietly. “I understand.
