When Van Dyke was finally allowed to meet the child he had fathered, he stood, massive and looming over everyone in the tiny hospital room, staring down with a strange intensity, at the little life he had created. Three days had elapsed. Xander had been at the receiving end of two surgeries, to fix the bones he had broken in his fall, but luckily, they were on his leg and his right arm. He was currently in bandages, bawling with the discomfort, Claude guessed, more than the pain.
