But she appeared unaffected. Dalton took a good look at her eyes and lips. He tightened his grasp and slid his lips closer, lying next to her as though he was trying to control himself. His eyes darkened and became somewhat flushed. The dust on his beads cleared when he coughed, revealing a dim light. His eyes became much deeper. At last, he raised her completely. He combed through her hair with his hand. His hold became more and more firm. Wynter was ready to open her eyes when she felt his breath near her.
