Colin had no idea what he was doing when he walked up to the drawer to take a gun. He knew he couldn't use it on them. Even though he badly wished he could. He knew it had just one bullet in it, and there were two of them in front of him who would have to suffer if he were to pull the trigger. His only intention was to force the truth out of them, which he knew he couldn't get by asking nicely. The truth about if Elaine, the only woman he had ever truly and deeply loved, was in love with this strange guy, with loads of tattoos on his chest, and eyes whose beauty did well at hiding his emotions. Yet as Colin held the gun between his hands, he found himself wondering if he would really be able to resist using the gun, considering how wildly his heart thudded against his ribcage, how bitter betrayal tasted at the back of his throat
