CHAPTER 11- BETHANY The morning was still engulfed in darkness as I woke up to start my day. I rubbed my eyes and yawned, feeling groggy and disoriented. As I proceeded to the common kitchen, I thought about my colleague Jane, who was always unusually quiet. She only spoke to me when necessary to communicate instructions. I wondered if she was just shy or if she had some other reason for keeping to herself.
