Chapter 227 74: One Last Time

Mia stepped into the uppermost part of the High Tower and found Xavier staring out the window at the night sky filled with stars. She had asked around for him after going to their chambers at the estate and not finding him there. Then the priest told her he saw him walking towards the uppermost inn in the High Tower. Mia followed his directions, and here she was, in the same space as her husband. He had spent the whole day at the High Tower planning the strategic movements and strikes for the battle against Elliott, along with Alpha Koz, Sir Valerio, Sir Kole, and herself. They had done their best to find the best approach around the Black Cove, and after reaching the standpoint of victory, Sir Valerio and Alpha Koz took a third of the men of war and went ahead to prepare the battleground for tomorrow. Xavier stayed back, and he and the rest of the men wanted to wait for the allies they had requested from the kingdom of Klean before joining up with them on the battlefield. It was fifty-fifty because, without the allies, they still stood at a disadvantage. Xavier received word that the allies from the kingdom of Jade were close and would be here in a few hours, so he couldn’t go home. He would wait for them, and when the allies from the two kingdoms arrived, he would join those who had gone ahead. That was the plan, and that is what they wanted to do.
