HE GOT out of the bed and walked towards the guest room, then he stopped. He has to take it slow. He needs to be reasonable. He knocked on the door three times, he knows it wasn’t locked, but he needs to do it, to pretend that he doesn’t know anything about her past. When no response from the inside, he slowly pushed open the door. Lily was still lying on the bed. Her face was covered by the pillow. He strolled to her and sat on the bed next to Lily’s shoulder.
