Amara couldn’t stay still. She had been pacing around Xavier’s office for a while now, clutching a broom instead of actually using it. Meanwhile, her boss was busy working on something at his desk, barely acknowledging her presence. She had walked past him so many times she’d lost count, zoning out completely. She didn’t even notice the way Xavier’s brow had been furrowed as he watched her the whole time.
