Kimberly’s POV I never meant to walk in on them. But there I was, standing in the doorway of the office, my hand still hovering over the doorknob as the conversation I overheard left me frozen in place. Vanessa’s voice was low, but it was sharp with a certain edge I hadn’t heard before. It wasn’t the usual calm, collected tone she always used with me, or with anyone else for that matter.
