Alexander’s POV I had been watching from the shadows for days now. It wasn’t like me to allow anyone to get too close to what I considered mine, but Damon’s actions were starting to grate on my nerves. It was subtle, at first, the way he hovered around Kimberley. The way he showed her attention in moments when he thought no one was looking. I could see the glimmer of something behind his eyes, a protective instinct that was far too familiar. Too close for comfort.
