Vincenzo's POV I ended up pacing outside her corridor for far too long before abandoning the second floor for the gardens. I wasn’t dressed for it, but I started jogging along the pathways anyway, putting one foot in front of the other, trying to outrun the pounding rhythm of my heart. I ran until every drop of adrenaline had been burned off, leaving nothing but exhaustion behind.
