She watches him intently—the way his body tenses beneath his tailored shirt, the way his jaw clenches like he's biting back something feral and untamed. The subtle twitch at the corner of his eye betrays the battle raging within him. She notes every detail, every minute reaction. He springs up from the plush leather couch, muscles coiling with barely restrained energy, and she almost laughs from how perfectly, how predictably, he's reacted to her provocation.
