Ivy’s heart pounded violently against her ribs as she stared at the stranger before her. The dim lighting made it hard to discern his full features, but there was an air of authority around him, something cold and unreadable that sent a chill down her spine. Her instincts screamed at her to run, but her body refused to move. She knew that whoever he was, he wasn’t here by coincidence. He was here for her.
