Chapter 30 Turning Points

Emily hadn’t even had time to recover from the whirlwind of emotions the past few days had thrown at her when her phone buzzed. It was a text from Ethan: “Wear something nice. The driver will pick you up by 7.” She stared at the message in confusion. A date? She wasn’t sure what to make of it. Given the awkward tension that still lingered between them after the last conversation concerning Claire, she hadn’t expected anything like this. Emily had no idea what Ethan was up to, but something about his words made her heart flutter in a way she hadn’t felt in a while. Maybe he was trying to make things right after their strange interactions.
